I like coffee, it is the only thing that gets me through the day. I was fed up with the instant stuff served up at the office and I tried the Tassimo (not a lover) and Senseo (great but small cup of coffee) then went for the Dolce Gusto Krups KP200040 and love it. I have one in the office and want one for home. Very easy to use and you can have espresso (first thing on arriving at the office just the kick I need) Caffe Lungo (tall and dark) Latte Macchiato (the best) and Cappuccino (afternoon treat). Uses a simple pod system with one for milk and one for latte/cappuccino and all pods available at Tesco’s and I am sure other well known supper markets. Pods are a little expensive but as the local shop charges £1.20 for a latte and this one tastes much better.

I am a bit of an expert on coffee machines! I've had one of those posh Gaggia ones (bought it second hand - bad idea!). Worked really well for three weeks! Nice coffee but the motor on it seized up (colossally expensive to repair!!) so I thought better of buying another one of those. I then bought a straight forward filter coffee machine - this was ok but not exciting if you like your lattes, mochas etc. At home I've currently got a dedicated cappuccino maker which makes great cappuccino but involves way too much washing up and cleaning! At work we've got a Tassimo (makes great hot chocolate!!) but doesn't impress me with its coffee. We've also got a senseo - makes a very small cup. If you like to drink from a mug then you have to use two pods or a mug-sized pod which makes it expensive.

Our latest purchase for Christmas was a dolce gusto Krups KP200040. This is without a doubt the best coffee maker I've ever had. All the drinks latte, mocha, cappuccino, lunga, hot chocolate are great - it even does an iced coffee! Even my husband (who prefers tea!!!) thinks the drinks taste just like you'd get in Starbucks etc. Washing up and cleaning is minimal, it's quite small and neat, it's very easy too use and available in a good range of colours. Well done to whoever thought up this clever little machine! I love it!!!

I am adding this review to say that if you're like me (i.e. a complete idiot in the kitchen), but want superb coffee, instantly with no hassle or effort, this is the machine for you. If I can work it, anyone can!

You cannot knock the looks either. I am very fond of retro gadgets and machines in my kichen and my Dolce Gusto blends in well. It's not as ugly or space consuming as some of it's competitors.

I have never been tempted to try any instant coffee machines and tend to rather spend a fortune on buying my cappuccinos in cafes everyday before going to work. But that is definitely a thing of the past. This machine is fantastic and so easy to use - even an idiot like me can throw a delicious cappuccino together after 5 minutes of unwrapping the box!

What about the price of the pods? Well, unlike spending the guts of £1.80 on a great latte or espresso in a cafe, pods for this contraption cost £2.99 for 16 pods! Not bad I hear you say, but there is a small catch. If you like cappuccinos, then you only get 8 cappuccinos out of a box of 16 because 8 pods are for the milk and the other 8 are for coffee. Whereas, if you like espressos, you get 16 pods of espresso exclusively. Having said that, if you get 8 cappuccinos for £2.99, this works out at only 37p each one - still a great bargain bearing in mind you are getting cafe-like quality!

All the coffee pod selections are delicious namely cappucino, espresso, lunghi (double espresso), latte, Chococino (hot chocolate). Unlike many rival machines, the coffee emerges piping hot and the pods are easily available from supermarkets. It even can do cold drinks such as Cappucino Ice. Also, it's so easy to use and clean. If you've been confused & somewhat depressed by very mixed reports on other machines, go for this without hesitation. It comes ready to go out of the box with a starter pack with cheaper, better drinks than coffee bars in your own home! Best money I've spent in a long time
